Entrepreneurship speaker Uri Levine has built a career out of helping get people where they need to go. As a serial entrepreneur and disruptor, Uri Levine co-founded Waze, the world’s largest driving traffic and navigation app, in 2007. Over 750 million drivers worldwide use it daily. In June 2013, Google acquired the company for a whopping $1.1 billion dollars. Levine also served as the first board member and investor for Moovit, a public transportation app used by more than 750 million people worldwide. Like Waze, it was acquired by Intel for $1 billion dollars in 2020.
Since the acquisition of Waze, Levine has dedicated himself to founding startups that aim to disrupt inefficient markets and improve underperforming services, with a focus on solving “big problems” and empowering consumers by saving them time and money. In 2023, he released his first and highly expected book: “Fall in Love with the Problem – Not the Solution”. The book is Uri’s handbook for entrepreneurs.
In his foreword to the book, Steve Wozniak, Co-founder of Apple, described it as the “bible” for entrepreneurs. Other notable figures, including Marc Randolph (Co-Founder of Netflix), Jennifer Fleiss (Co-Founder of Rent a Runway), Kiran Mazumdar Shaw (Chairperson and Founder of Biocon), and Saul Singer (co-author of the New York Times bestseller “Startup Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle”), have also praised the book as a must-read.
He continues to develop ideas that challenge and disrupt inefficient markets and add value for large audiences. Uri is the co-founder or board member of Moovit, FeeX, HERE, Engie, WeTrip, Refundit, Roomer, ZeeK, and other ground-breaking startups. He is also an independent director of Indian tech colossus InfoSys.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Uri Levine is a frequent public speaker. In his sought-after presentations, he shares experiences and insights on entrepreneurship and disruption with audiences around the world. He also leads an academic workshop called “How to Build a Startup”. The workshop is for undergraduate and graduate business students, with the goal of inspiring the next generation of innovators and thinkers.
In all his efforts, Levine always follows a simple mantra which is now also the title of his book: Fall in love with the problem, not the solution. This approach has helped him develop some of the world’s most innovative solutions to some of our most nagging challenges.
