Leadership speaker Kate Sweetman is the Chief Idea Development Officer at SweetmanThoughtLeadership. For over two decades, she has worked in the fields of teams, leadership, and high performance. A former editor at the Harvard Business Review, she has been named to the Thinkers50 Radar on two occasions. Over the course of her career, she has spoken in over 28 countries and appeared in publications such as Sloan Management Review, HBR.org, The Financial Times, The Huffington Post, the Rotman School of Business, and Economic Times India.
In addition to North America and South America, Kate’s clients are located throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Goldman Sachs, HPE, Shire, Novartis, EMC, ICICI Securities India, and ADIA are just a few companies that have worked with her. Her team received the highest award from the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) for their Verizon Leadership Development Program.
Kate centralized her efforts on Asia from 2011 to 2014, when she and her team developed the Asian Leadership Index. During those years, they studied followership and leadership in 18 Asian countries.
Speaker Kate Sweetman co-wrote Reinvention: Accelerating Results in an Age of Disruption. The book won the 2016 International Best Book Award. In addition, Enterprise Ireland magazine praised it as one of the best books ever written. Furthermore, Kate co-wrote the book Leadership Code: Five Rules to Lead By, available in 15 different languages.
Kate previously worked as an editor at the Harvard Business Review. She has also written for Sloan Management Review and Fast Company. Kate has mentored several students at the Legatum Center for Entrepreneurship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, as well as a BA from Yale.
