    Speaker Jim Rogers studied at Yale and Oxford University before co-founding the Quantum Fund, a global investment partnership. Over a decade, the Quantum Fund portfolio increased by 4200%, vastly outperforming the S&P 500’s 50% gain. Rogers retired at 37, later managing his own portfolio and moving into academia as a finance professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. In 1989-1990, he was the moderator for WCBS’s ‘The Dreyfus Roundtable’ and FNN’s ‘The Profit Motive with Jim Rogers’​.

    From 1990 to 1992, Rogers pursued a lifelong dream by motorcycling 100,000 miles across six continents, a feat recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. He documented this journey in his book, “Investment Biker: On the Road with Jim Rogers.” In 1999, Rogers embarked on the Millennium Adventure, traveling through 116 countries over three years and covering more than 245,000 kilometers, which he recounted in “Adventure Capitalist: The Ultimate Road Trip”​.

    Jim Rogers published his book “Hot Commodities: How Anyone Can Invest Profitably In The World’s Best Market” in 2004.  He also wrote “A Bull in China,” detailing his experiences and the opportunities in China, and “A Gift to My Children,” a guide for his daughters on finding success and happiness. He also published his memoir, “Street Smarts: Adventures on the Road and in the Markets,” in 2013.
