Innovation speaker Jeanne Gang is Studio Gang Architects’ Founder and Principal. Studio Gang is an award-winning urban and architecture design practice located in New York and Chicago. Jeanne’s work has earned her international recognition for her inventive use of materials as well as an environmentally conscious approach.
Her numerous projects include both established institutions and new community anchors. They all involve the topic of modern challenges and their influence on human life. Jeanne has created several inspiring contemporary projects. These include the WMS Boathouse at Clark Park, the Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo, and the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership.
The extent of Jeanne’s current projects includes the expansion of New York City’s American Museum of Natural History. In addition, she is working on the development of the Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, and New York high-rise towers. Furthermore, she is working on an ecological planning project on a Caribbean island.
Speaker Jeanne Gang ‘s work has been displayed in various places, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Modern Art, and the International Venice Biennale. She has also taught at Yale, Rice, Princeton, IIT, and Harvard. Studio Gang’s work first book, titled Reveal, came out in 2011. Jeanne later released Reverse Effect: Renewing Chicago’s Waterways, a book that visualizes a much greener future.
Gang revealed The Arkansas Art Center in 2018.
In 2019, the mayor of Chicago revealed that the Studio ORD design team had won an international design contest. Gang’s team will begin designing the new O’Hare International Airport’s Global Terminal in 2023.
Her latest awards include the Marcus Prize for Architecture in 2017 and Time Magazine’s World’s Most Influential Architect award in 2019.
