Keynote speaker Cynthia Marshall has been an advocate for diversity and inclusion within Mavericks. She has also worked at AT&T for 36 years. Cynthia began her career as the CEO of the Mavs with the goal of completely changing the organizational culture. In her first 100 days, she brought a trust-based leadership style, and a new culture of inclusiveness, and openness to the Mavericks organization.
Cynthia Marshall had previously founded Marshalling Resources. This is consulting company that specializes in Diversity, Leadership, and Culture Transformation. In June 2017, Cynthia worked with The Dow Chemical Company to implement an inclusive culture.
Speaker Cynthia Marshall established her reputation as an AT&T officer several years ago. She raised her reputation even higher once she became AT&T’s Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Cynthia had the responsibility to develop top leaders, find ways to align all employees with the company’s priorities, cover major HR, workforce diversity, and more. Cynt played a leading role in the creation of a world-class inclusion and diversity culture at AT&T, placing the company in the top 3 on Diversity Inc’s 2017 Top 50 List of Companies. Fortune listed AT&T in the 100 Best Companies to Work For list in 2017.
In the past, Cynthia was President-AT&T North Carolina and the very first African-American chair of the North Carolina State Chamber of Commerce.
Cynthia Marshall has received many honors and awards, one of these being Adweek’s 30 Most Powerful Women in Sports.
The Network Journal named her as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Business of 2017. During the same year, Cynthia Marshall received the ATHENA® Leadership Program Award. Furthermore, she was selected as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Corporate America”. In 2013 she even obtained the Leadership North Carolina Governor’s Award. Only one citizen every year receives this award.
Cynthia is also involved with many non-profit boards such as Texas Women’s Foundation, and Dallas Regional Chamber.
