Political speaker Alastair Campbell is a communicator, writer, and strategist. He was also the press secretary, spokesman, and director of communications and strategy of British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Aside from politics, writing, and speaking, he spends most of his time working with charities and consulting.
When it comes to charities, Alastair mainly deals with mental health ones. In fact, he co-founded the Equality4MentalHealth party. During the 2005 spending review, the party managed to secure an additional £600million for mental health services.
Despite having left a full-time position with the Blair administration in 2003, he returned for each of the three successive general elections, first assisting Blair, then Gordon Brown, and finally Ed Miliband.
